Account features

A Call Notes account provides you with ready access to your funds and a range of facilities, including:

  • direct crediting of salary, dividends and other income
  • cheque deposits at most banks
  • personalised cheque book
  • electronic bill payments
  • funds transfers to other financial institutions
  • telephone redemptions
  • settlement of securities transactions.

Additional benefits

  • Regular statements — We will send you a detailed monthly statement if there has been account activity, otherwise you will receive a quarterly statement.
  • Competitive interest rates — Goldman Sachs Investment Notes interest rates are consistently broadly in line with wholesale money markets. The interest on your Call Notes account is calculated daily and paid quarterly or on full redemption.
  • You can transfer your funds from Call Notes to Term Notes at any time.

Goldman Sachs Investment Notes — Term Notes

A Term Notes account allows you to invest your funds for a fixed term and:

  • select the term that best suits your needs
  • receive a fixed, competitive rate of interest for a selected period
  • elect to receive interest quarterly, half yearly or on maturity
  • receive detailed quarterly statements.

When you invest in a Term Notes account, you are investing for a fixed term and funds are generally unavailable during that term.

  • Investments in Investment Notes are unsecured loans to Goldman Sachs & Partners Australia Capital Markets Limited (“the Company”). As such the return of principal and interest to investors depends on the ongoing financial capacity of the Company to pay these amounts. Investors should be aware that there is a risk of losing some or all of your principal investment in the event that the company’s financial position deteriorates substantially.
  • To assist in maintaining its ongoing financial capacity, the Company has developed a number of risk management policies, particularly to address risks such as counterparty credit risk and market risk.
  • Credit limits are set by the Company’s board of directors itself, or by a board-appointed committee that applies rigorous credit standards to a broad range of approved counterparties.
  • The Company’s market risk is monitored daily to ensure it remains within the approved limits.

What are the fees and charges?

Fees and charges that you may be charged when investing in Investment Notes are detailed below.

No establishment or termination fees

There are no establishment or termination fees payable for an investment in Investment Notes.

Other fees and charges

Transaction related fees

We do not charge transaction related fees as a result of the use of a facility offered with Investment Notes (for example, cheque facility, internet funds transfer facility or settlement authority). We may, however, introduce fees at a later date. You will be given at least 30 days’ prior notice of the introduction of any such fees.

Event related fees

For example, (but without limitation) fees for the provision of:

  • dishonours
  • foreign exchange transfers
  • special clearances
  • telegraphic transfers
  • voucher retrieval.

Other organisations may charge a fee when you access funds by using electronic transactions. We are not responsible for setting or varying the level of these fees.

Transaction taxes

There may be transaction taxes which are charges to impose or recover government duties and taxes arising from the processing of debits and credits to your account.
